Lemon PTA Programs

2022-2023 PTA Sponsored Events and Programs Highlight Reel

  • Parent volunteers for monthly classroom art instruction, appreciation and projects; curriculum is provided.

  • Opportunity for students to purchase new books in the fall and spring to add to their own library while supporting our school library

  • PTA sponsors a variety of cultural arts assemblies throughout the school year. Our students are exposed to a wide range of cultural experiences including music, visual arts, science, math, magic, athletic performance, folk dancing and singing. These programs are an excellent way to expose children to other cultural art forms.

  • D.A.D.S.: Defense against distractions at school. Volunteers support campus safety before and after school and assist with special event security and set-upItem description.

  • Fun outdoor family movie night free for all students and their families. Fundraiser for 6th Grade.

  • Shrinking budgets mean less funding to our school, and the PTA makes a major contribution to our kids’ education by paying for the bus transportation for class field trips. Each year every class was gifted $200 toward a field trip. You are directly supporting this effort when you support PTA fundraising. These field trips would not happen without the PTA. Contact your child's teacher about this year's field trip

  • A much beloved sporting event for the whole family where students run, walk, and dance laps to raise money for our school. All funds raised at this event are directed to a special fundraising effort. All families and the community are invited to attend.

  • Parent volunteers to assist Part-time staff with outdoor learning activities in our school garden, Sage Garden Project. Nutrition and garden curriculum is provided.

  • A family tradition at Lemon Avenue, our Carnival is also a major PTA fundraising event. A giant extravaganza of costumes, games, food, prizes and fun for the entire family, don’t miss this chance to come together as a community. From classroom-decorated game booths to themed photo opportunities, from our spooky graveyard to our famous haunted house, bake sale and fun cake walk ... There is something for everyone to enjoy.

  • Students enjoy holiday cheer and assemble craft items to decorate their homes or give as gifts the week of Dec 12-16th.

  • Our FREE Welcome Back Picnic is a hospitality event, welcoming families and staff back to school. This program puts together refreshments at many events and hosts Staff Appreciation Week in the spring, a week of appreciation treats and end-of-year activities to show gratitude for our teachers and staff

  • Volunteers assist Kona Ice after school once per month with orders & payments to bring smiles to our kid’s faces and raise money for our school

  • A week of special activities to support children’s love of reading

  • In the true spirit of the Olympic Games, our Olympic Field Day is held in June. Prior to the event, classes choose a country to study and represent during the Games. The school is decorated with an international flair, and guest speakers are invited to talk to the children about the Olympic spirit. Opening and closing ceremonies are a highlight along with track and field events, and families are welcome to attend.

  • Lemon Avenue families are invited to their students’ classrooms to check out their work. Open House is a chance to see the wonderful writing, art and other projects. Art Docents host a school-wide art show this evening and PTA hosts an association meeting.

  • Food, music and silent auction fundraiser for parents to enjoy. The Silent Auction features themed baskets donated by classrooms, excursions, entertainment, restaurants and so much more. All proceeds from this event go to fund important PTA programs. All families are encouraged to attend and donate.

  • The purpose of Red Ribbon Week is to present a united and visible commitment toward creating a Drug-Free America. Students in our school participate in classroom activities and campus events to encourage healthy drug-free living.

  • Reflections, a national PTA event, provides opportunities for students to express themselves through the arts. The categories of Literature, Music, Dance, Photography and Visual Arts are judged on originality, creativity, merit and interpretation of the theme. An evening show is held to highlight the entries and winning entries move onto higher levels across the county and state.

  • parent-classroom volunteer program responsible for coordinating communication between families, teachers, and the PTA

  • DJ, dancing, food and fun for the whole family!

  • An annual tradition to celebrate children’s art and creativity. Runs through the Art Docent program and raises money for our school when parents and loved ones purchase their child’s art on a variety of keepsakes. Every child completes a special project for this fundraiser and all proceeds from this event go to fund important PTA programs.

  • Held once per month, raises money for our school when you and your friends/family dine on Tuesdays at select restaurants

  • Week-long event gathers food and donations for families in need

  • students in grades 4-6 showcase their talents in singing, dancing, comedy, gymnastics and other specialties

  • The PTA yearbook committee records, highlights, and commemorates the past year of a school.

  • Plans and coordinates 6th grade fundraising campaigns for special end-of-year activities and promotion with committee help.
