Teacher Appreciation Week
May 6-10 Appreciation Week, Simple activities to show appreciation to all of our Lemon Avenue Teachers and Staff. We appreciate how the teachers and staff help the students to level up at Lemon Avenue. There are some suggestions here or come up with your own ways to recognize those at school to make a difference to you.
Garden Gala
Garden Gala Event Friday 5/3 5pm - 7pm (We hope you can join us in the garden for Ms. Angela’s famous Indian Dal recipe. We will have live music, lawn games, live legacy charm engraving, plant starters, a microscope lab, takeaways and arts and crafts in the garden. Exciting raffle prizes you won't want to miss! Come join us Garden Pals and future Garden Pals. We are inches away from meeting our fundraising goal to help keep our garden project for future years!
Family and Me Paint Night + Association Election Meeting
It’s time for our 2nd annual Family and Me Paint Night! Join us in the multi-purpose room for some creative family-and-me-time and experience the joy of making art alongside your child(ren) and friends from 6-7:30 PM Thursday, April 25th. This PTA sponsored event will offer four fun and exciting painting projects for you and your kid(s): three will be take home projects and one will be a community mural for all to enjoy! This event is free for all lemon students and their families and all project supplies will be provided courtesy of your Lemon Avenue PTA. Paint shirts will be available to help keep clothes clean but suggest you not wear anything that can't get a little messy. RSVP to save your spot for April 25th's event below!
Before Family Paint Night, there will be a PTA election meeting in the multi-purpose room from 5:45-6PM to vote in next year’s PTA board! Your vote counts! Please join us to vote in Lemon Avenue’s 2024-2025 executive board. The board plans, organizes and implements many of the enrichment programs, events and activities your child enjoys at Lemon Avenue.

Registration is open for our Lemon Avenue Elementary Fun Run! This is our biggest fundraiser of the year! The school’s goal is to raise $30,000 for keeping Lemon Avenue cool! Large fans to cool the auditorium, a new sound system to sound a lot cooler, and other improvements to assist in keeping Lemon Avenue a cool place to be.

Family Movie Night
Come one, come all! Free family movie night under the stars on Friday, March 8th at 6 PM! Bring a blanket, chairs and dinner/snacks, if desired. Free popcorn and water will be provided. 5th and 6th graders will be selling concessions to raise money for promotion activities.
Literacy Week Family Picnic
Grab a book and some lunch to picnic with your child during their scheduled lunch time! See attached flyer for details. The book fair will be open, too!

2023 Variety Show
Calling all 4th-6th graders, share your talent and join us for this year’s talent show at 6 PM on Thursday, February 15th! Performing acts might include music, singing, dancing, acting, magic, or other special skills you have to share with us.
Get your permission slips turned in to your teacher by Friday, January 12th.
Practices are held the following Wednesdays in the multi-purpose room: Jan 17, Jan 24, Jan 31, Feb 7, and Feb 14th.

Join us in spreading kindness and gratitude this Thanksgiving season!
🗓 When: November 13-17
🏫 Where: Lemon Avenue Elementary
🍲 What to do: Drop non-perishable food items off in labeled boxes in your classroom.
Let's work together to make a difference for those in our community. Some suggested items to contribute include canned food, peanut butter, pasta and infant formula.
And here's the exciting part: The class with the most donations at the end of the week will earn extra recess time!
Thank you for your generosity and support. Together, we can make this Thanksgiving special for everyone in our community.
Fall Carnival
Pre-order your carnival wristbands and meal tickets below. Once you select your items, click on the cart button in the upper right hand corner of the website to make payment and complete your purchase.
We will be selling tickets in-person via cash or credit during the week of the event, as well as on the night of, but if you want to skip the line and handle it ahead of time, buy yours now :) Please RSVP on or before Thursday, October 26th. All proceeds go back to the Lemon Ave PTA. Students must be accompanied by an adult. Scroll down for volunteer opportunities.
Pick up your pre-ordered wristbands and food tickets after school during the week of the event Monday-Friday. You can also pick them up at the registration table on the night of the carnival.

Garden Pals Fundraiser
Join us in the garden Friday, September 29th, in the Lemon Ave garden for our Garden Pals fundraiser kickoff. There will be fun activities for the kids. Tour our garden and enjoy Miss Angela’s fried rice and cucumber salad. Other snacks and beverages will be served courtesy of Berry Good Food Foundation.

Reflections Art Contest
Reflections is a National PTA sponsored art program to celebrate art in education. It is fun and free for all students to participate.
This year’s theme: I am hopeful because….
How to participate?
Register your child’s participation by sending an email to sheridansands@gmail.com.
Child reflects on the theme and creates an original work at home in one of 6 art categories following category guidelines (simple, easy-to-follow guidelines will be sent home with student after registration e-mail).
Submit artwork to child’s teacher by October 20th.
Student is recognized for their creativity and talent at the Lemon Avenue Reflection’s art show in November - complete with refreshments, ribbons and awards, and photographs. Art will be judged by local artists. Students earning highest marks will be moved up to the next level of judging - council judging. Highest marks in council judging will move on to district judging, then to regional, state and finally the national level.

1st PTA Association Meeting
Join your PTA for the first association meeting to hear about important news and updates for the 2023-24 school year! PTA members are the “association” for a unit and play an important part in conducting the business of a PTA. By joining the PTA and participating in association meetings, you have the opportunity to vote and be heard by your PTA.

Performance open to 4th - 6th graders! Each child has 2 minutes to perform. Register your child’s talent!

DJ Randy will be back and Heartlight dance staff will be on site facilitating group dances and competitions. Start practicing your moves now!
We will have complimentary popcorn, cotton candy and water. There will also be an amazing food truck and 2 delicious food vendor’s on site if you’d like to buy dinner: Tata’s Tacos y Tortas, Raquel’s On a Roll Lumpia, and Pham’s Indian Fry Bread. Cash and card excepted.

Paint shirts will be available to help keep clothes clean but suggest you not wear anything that can't get a little messy. Complimentary refreshments served and a potluck Cookie Bar. Cookie donations are greatly appreciated! Please drop off cookies Thursday morning, May 11th, to the front office. RSVP to save your spot for May 11th's event below!
There will be a brief PTA committee meeting from 6-6:15PM to share PTA updates, news and highlights, and to let families know what they can expect from PTA programs and events the remainder of this year!
